Self managed DMP or go through non profitable organisation

Hello
Can someone please advise which is the best way to go.
I had my LBM in August last year and took advice from CCCS. I have written to creditors with token payments and have received the calls, threatening letters etc etc. Some have been understanding and some quite harrassing.
The question is are the creditors less harrassing if you go through a non profitable organisation, or should I attempt a self managed one.
Thanks for reading and advice would be valued.

I can only advise from my experience, I used the CCCS and within two weeks of starting with them haven't had one phone call...to think I used to turn off the phone if my DH was home or I was going out...even now I still think when it rings it'll be someone chasing for payment..
Everyone's different, some people prefer to handle their own DMP whilst others feel more comfortable having some 'professional input'..certainly for me having the CCCS helping has been so far a good thing.
Good luck with whichever road you take.0 -
Hi & Welcome
It's entirely up to you...creditors will be just as harrassing which ever you do. Things will settle down though after they've been receiving regular payments for a while what ever you do. You could always use CCCS to start with and do all the leg work and then go it alone when things have settled?

Hi there
For me having CCCS on side has meant peace of mind. They have always been really helpful when I've needed advice and it more or less takes the hassle of dealing with creditors out of your hands - it means when they are bugging you on the phone you can just quote your CCCS ref number and put the phone down if you don't feel up to talking to them.
Also, I don't know if others agree but I think creditors may take you a bit more seriously if they can see you are taking professional advice.
Having said that, now I am a couple of years further on my DMP journey I can see the attraction of being self-managed but I would have found it hard at the beginning.
