Savings

Hi

I'm almost certainly going to file for bankruptcy in the next few weeks, but I have a question (Probably won't be the last either!)

Over the last few months I've been able to save a couple of hundred pounds in my savings account for the purpose of buying a pram, cot etc before the baby arrives in the summer.

What will happen to this account?
Should I transfer the money to my partner?
Should I buy what I need now?
If I leave it, will it all be taken from me? If I spend it or move it will it be fraud?

Many thanks

    Hi and welcome:)

I would buy them and keep the receipts so you can prove why and what you have done.

If it is for essential things needed for the new baby their should be no problem as long as its not a mega designer model.

Ask as many questions as you need for help on BR and we will try and help:)

    Congrats on new baby:T:T:T:T:T

I would transfer the money to your current account and buy the things you need (pram, cot, etc) now. The OR isn't going to punish you for getting essentials for a baby. But you could just keep the reciepts (and pay by card so it shows on your bank statement). That way, if there are any questions you can show proof of spending. You could even get some mothercare (or where ever people shop for the things these days) gift vouchers for your self, that way you'll have the money, but won't have to get everything now.

I agree with the above comments and just want to add that once you've gone BR things will be a little tight for buying new baby clothes every couple of months. So consider Freecycle and the charity shops for that fast growing period. :)
