Can "creeping" the week forward save me money?

Hello there.
Although I am fortunate enough to now be free of debt, I intend never taking my eye off the ball again, and always look to budget more effectively.
So this occured to me:-
I currently withdraw £x cash on Monday morning to see me through until the following Sunday evening.
If I "creep" the week forward by one day each time, (ie an 8-day week), after 7 weeks the week's start day would be back to Monday, but I'd have the benefit of an extra weeks cash in the old bank account.
Is this a good idea? Does anyone else do this?
Or am I just deluding myself?
Obviously this can only happen 7 times per year, but hey, every little helps right?
Thanks for reading.

I do this, after a fashion. I try to delay shopping day by one day each week.
It usually means I've run out of something staple on the last day, bread, milk or whatever, but I find I can adjust and compromise with what I have.
It is making a positive difference to my budget
My first reply was witty and intellectual but I lost it so you got this one instead
Proud to be a chic shopper

I think it would only work if you made a point of putting the money you would have spent on day 8 into a separate pigy bank or bank account, then you would be motivated by seeing the amount increase. Good idea also because you are making yourself use up stuff in the fridge/freezer/food cupboards before going out and spending money - all very MSE!One life - your life - live it!0

I see what you're saying Nargle but I didn't anticipate any gain until week 7:- by the time I've got back to the Monday start day, I would have two lots of £x to budget with.
£x to fund the (8 day) week as per normal, and £x to bank without significant cutbacks, etc.
I agree too, that it's amazing what you can find to eat at the back of the cupboards if you are determined enough.
Thanks for the input.
