what can I use hydrogen peroxide for ????

Options
I bought a bottle of this today to use in a 'recipe' I found on 'tinternet' to remove cat pee smell from carpet ( seems to be working so far). The lable says you can use it as mouthwash and a disinfectant, any more ideas please?

Hydrogen peroxide acts like bleach and can be used as a stain remover and a sterlising agent. Of course the best know use is bleaching hair.

I use it as a disinfectant on sore, at risk of getting infected, hang nails. It is very odd but effective. It fizzes when it oxygenates the nasty stuff and does the disinfectant job. X

Be a bit careful with it, as others have said it can bleach things, depending on the strength.

Use it instead of bleach for disinfecting/cleaning hard surfaces if you just want to use it up!

It works well to clear up thrush in horses hooves but I don't suppose that's much help to most people!!!
  • Good for mouth infections. The anaerobic bacteria that live in your mouth don't like the oxygen in it.

Safe to use on cats with injuries if you run out of cooking whisky...

What strength is it? You can buy hydrogen peroxide in Canada as an anti-septic. We have some in our medicine cabinet from a trip there. Ours is a bit like a milder version of TCP.

    No, I didn't write that!

But be careful, it can be volatile around other substances...
