I do get HB and CTB (full amounts) but JSA is only £65 per week (as a single person) so it comes as deficit each time I try to make a SOA.

OP, sorry, did not mean to hijack your thread, just wondered about possible BR application refusal too.

I had a deficit on my SOA and I didn't even put in for things like clothes and holiday. I wasn't refused.

I am not managing at all.
My JSA covers my bills just about with about £40 let for me per month (not week, month).
Had a lot of dog/cat food stashed from better days but it won't last forever - still got dry cat food and dry dog food for about 3 months I think but had to get some tinned food for cats last week and absolutely terrified now finances wise.

(((hugs))) that must be scary. Have you checked out the Old Style Board to help with ways to manage on that much for food?

Also put your details into http://www.turn2us.org.uk/benefits_search.aspx and see you are getting the correct benefits.

Have a look at this site as well http://resourcefulcook.com/mealplans/personalise/plan/op7-frugal-favourites-2
