Hi everybody...I just received a phone call from these people telling me my transaction never went through ...After checking my internet banking it says that i have paid the amount in full...Now they are askin for my bank statements for proof of payment..but i am reluctant to do this.I have told them to wait a few days to see if the transaction will go through but they said no they dont want to.And if i dont pay it again or provide a bank statement then they will send a letter out telling me it is going further .probably adding more charges for it..
Also on the day i paid them over the phone ..they phoned something like 2 hours later tellin me their systems had crashed and could i pay it again..
Any info would be appreciated..

hmmm, sounds very dodgy to me, I don't believe there is any law stating they CAN see bank statements-they are private, although to get benefits from council e/t/c you have to show them!
I wouldn't pay it again, is there any way you can blank everything else out of your bank statement except there payment and show them that?official dfw nerd club member no 214
Proud to be dealing with my debts!;)
Why is a person that handles your money called a broker?!0 -
Take the transaction number off your statement and send that to them. Or photocopy your statement, use a thick black marker and cross out all other information on the statement.Barclaycard 3800

do as broken heated said. Provide them with the transaction number and tell them to chase it up with their bank. Do not pay it again.0

Why don't you quote the data protection act to them, perhaps they have forgotten that a third party by law has no authorisation to check your personal files without first gaining your written permission.
Check for further info on the internet.
(sorry i used to work for BG, and that is what was drummed into us in the call centre)
Good Luck x0 -
I guess they are trying to get double the payment.
Cut and paste the transaction, but blank out the rest as proof.
Or is it not yet 3 days since paying, as it takes 3/4 days for an electronic payment to show at a different bank?0 -
Tell Them The Transaction Has Gone Through, And Your Bank Has Told You IT Has , Say If They Say It Hasnt Gone Through They Should Contact There Bank To Complain A Payment Made From Your Bank To Theres Has Gone Missing, Give Them The Transaction Number , Thats All You Need To Do I Think They Are Just Trying To Trick Further Payments Out Of You If They Have Had This Months Payment Tell Them You Will Pay Them When Its Next Due0

The thing is it was only a 1 time transaction so dont have to pay them anymore...the sum is not a great deal of money..nearly £60 ..but it was the guy's arrogance on the phone that really wound me up...basically accusing me of not giving them the money...
I phoned the bank straight after i posted this thread and they said it has definetly went through...i explained to the bank clerk what this tool had said to me and he said it was totally unacceptable..
Cheers for all your reply's..:beer:0 -
I'm sure the bank could provide a faxed note telling confirming that the transaction has gone through and with the details of the account it has gone too.
Then again, they might charge you £20 for it.0 -
Let them sit and sweat. So what if they send you a letter telling you it's going further? If they do they will have their cash by the time the letter gets through your door!0

And the worst they can do is take you to court. In which case you send your bank statement to the judge and it will be thrown out.
DO NOT WHATEVER YOU DO give any DC monkeys your bank details or statements ever0
