I had a similar experience recently, heard the postie come up the stairs and the mail landing on the floor, spotted the red card right away and shouted down the stairs to him
"Why have I got a card when I am in?"

He answered "Read the card" - cheeky s*d :mad:

Apparently he had tried to deliver a parcel the previous day when I was at work and it had then been returned to the depot. So instead of trying to deliver it again, he puts a card through the door and I have to wait 24 hours to collect it.....was raging.

Have to admit I reported his rudeness when I went to collect the parcel was told not the first complaint they had had about him.

if he has one parcel/letter that won't go through the letter box, his bands the whole lot together inc, bank statements,bill,credit cards...etc and leaves it on my door step! for all to see

Take a photo of the mail left on your doorstep and then contact your local depot manager or use the RM online complaint facility. Show them your photo. You have one slack postie.

All posties should have recently been updated on delivery procedures and security awareness by watching a dvd in their workplace. The dvd makes it perfectly clear that doorstepping is not allowed. Posties are not even supposed to leave items in porches/bins/sheds etc even when there is a note on the door from the customer specifically requesting them to do so.

As for the OP, I don't suppose by any chance you have a doorbell that doesn't work do you? Or have a upvc door without a door knocker?

Just for people saying they have to wait 24 hours, sometimes if you have just missed the delivery if you call the depo they will call the delivery driver and get him to re deliver it, and i dont wait 24 hours i go when i get in from work, i think they just say 24 hours to give themselves time

Our postie has recently started doing this - my daughter was in the other day and a red card came through the door with the rest of the post, no ring on the bell, no nothing!

Shame, our old postie was wonderful, would go out of his way to deliver mail, even used to deliver to me at work! Not the same since they changed from bikes to putting two posties and two trollies in the back of a van, don't even know the posties by name anymore!

hubbys just gone down to see if they have it yet. cant wait no longer. i have just found an email in span from 4 days ago saying ive won a large organic veg box,....they wouldnt send that with the postie would they???

nope hubbys just got back and its not been took to post office yet gotta go back in morning. i hope its summat good now or im gonna feel a right tit lol
