tax rebate

we went bankrupt a week or so ago but are due a tax rebate, what would happen if i used this money without tellin the OR, to replace our car and to pay a big dentist bill (£900) for the wife, our car is falling apart and needs hundreds spendin on it.

    The tax rebate is likely to be paid straight over to the OR by HMRC.

    If it did get paid to you and you spend it without talking to the OR first, then you have disposed of an asset and the OR may consider a BRO.

    Bankruptcy Restriction Order - it extends the BR restrictions from between 2 and 15 years.

    Speak to your OR and see what they say.
