Could someone point me in the right direction to the prove it template letter? As a DCA Co has taken over a debt from the CC Co, with whom i have a dispute with at present. Cant seem to find it !
Thanks a lot

    "prove it" in what way?

    That you dispute that the debt is yours in the first place?

    That you want a copy of the credit agreement and statement of account?

    What do you dispute?

    Thanks again fermi, and sorry i should have said, i want a copy of the original signed credit agreement that i started in 1998, would the DCA be able to supply that once i have paid the appropriate fee, which i think is £10

    You can request a copy for £1 from the DCA or the original creditor. They don't have to provide a actual signed copy though.

    Or are you thinking of a subject access request under the data protection act? Costs £10 and should probably be made to the original creditor.

    What is the dispute exactly?

    Would be helpful to know, as it may influence which one to go for.

    Well what im thinking is, and i may have confused myself ! I beleive i was miss sold a ppi on the credit card, if i have or didnt request it, then i may be able to get some monies deducted from the amount i owe, so really i want proof that what they are asking for is what i really owe, i was paying £113 on an agreement which i was struggling to pay and MBNA would not accept a lower monthly payment of £30, so unfortunately defaulted, which is the amount i will offer the DCA. Hope this makes sense !

    why not just ask the company what ppi was included?
    Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

    :rotfl::rotfl:

    Because they want to know for sure what they actually signed for rather than what the company claims they agreed to.

    Ok. You can ask for the CCA from the DCA.

    If you get a genuine copy back, then that may show if you signed for the PPI.

    But as a signed copy is not required, then you may not.

    You may have to resort to a SAR with the original creditor for £10 if that doesn't show what you need to know.
