Hi All
I wonder if someone can help
I have been awaya couple of days and come back to a letter from Isme (part of shop direct) asking me to contact them asap as someone has set up a facility with them and they believe it to be someone inpersonating me

...It is
I neither want nor intend in the future to want credit

Question is, I cannot talk to them until tomorrow, how do I find out if other things have been set-up in my name, do I request the details from experian/equifax/callcredit. How do I find out how much I need to send as payment.

How do they know it's not you?

I'd be more concerned that the email is from a scammer who wants you to give them your details to "verify" the account.

Don't pass on any details. Get them to send you what they have. Don't let them tell you they can't because of the data protection act because, if the account is in your name, they can't withhold the information.

It was a letter. I didnt call the number on the letter I googled shop direct and rang them as I had thought the same.
I went through the order number. Apparently there is an account but is frozen until my identity is verified.
The letter also says if it is fraud they will record the details with CIFAS and a tag will go on the account when further credit is requested.
I think it just set me a panic

I have just tried to get my stat report online from callcredit and it is saying based on my details it cannot provide my report online
I have had experian and equifax via post and wondered if the online application to callcredit was affected by the marker from CIFAS that was put on when I found out that I had been a victim of ID fraud
I plan to do a postal onbe when I am back in the office on thursday but any feedback apprecaited
