Could I smother the chicken with curry paste before roasting or would it burn and ruin the chicken.
I ask as my OH loves curry but I am buying whole chickens and cooking and stripping for meals and sandwiches etc I though curry flavoured might be nice for sandwiches and salads.

I've never smothered a chicken with curry paste before, but you could try mixing with a little oil, and sparing brush it on, perhaps making slits in the skin?0

Don't know about the paste idea, but here is a recipe suggestion:-

What are you trying to make? Is it coronation chicken? Just mix cooked plain chicken with curry powder and mayo. You can fancy it up with dried fruit, nuts, seeds to taste.

You could just cook a chicken curry and put in extra chicken - remove and chill and slice for sandwiches
Im not sure but curry paste itself might be a little too concentrated (IMO). YOu could try a small amount while cooking something else
Ill merge this later

It isnt coronation chicken I am trying to make - just trying to give plain chicken a bit of a zing so that when it is used plain in sandwiches or with stir fry veg it has a bit of a curry flavour. It is a large organic free range chicken so I dont want to ruin it.0

Hi
My mum used to cover a chicken in tandoori marinade / souce. She would get the pataks one and mix it with yogurt. It tastes delicious but your whole house will also smell of tandoori for a while.

Well I thinned it out with oil and massaged it into the chicken and left it for a couple of hours then roasted it - OH loved it x0
