Hi all,

Ive recently been put off work sick by the doctor and am claiming statutory sick pay. But i was wondering if my PPI with the halifax personal loan would cover me for Stress anxiety and panic attacks, or would that come under mental illness which i am not sure if ppi covers.:o ty.

    Hi there

If you did not have this condition when you taken out the loan, they should then pay out on a claim for this.;)
But do check the policy details, if you do not have these on hand the business should supply them on request.

Policy cover changes from time to time, so you need to check what your specific policy document says.

A common feature of this sort of policy is that it will pay out for such illnesses.

The bad news is that there is often a condition that states "as long as you are under the care of a consultant psychiatrist".

    Meeting that condition is rare.

I thought stress and anxiety were just part of life.

    They are.

And in my younger years I would have been very unsympathetic to those who don't appear to be able to cope with stress, anxiety and other pressures.

A good dose of depression taught me a lesson I don't want to be repeated. It's a horrible place to be and I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.

All I would say to the OP is that life can and does get better. Good luck!

    OP never mentioned depression.

No. Although the conditions mentioned are often symptoms of depression or triggers of depression.

The point I was making is that while some people can cope with a particular load of stress and anxiety at one point in there life, it doesn't automatically mean they can cope with it at another stage.

Stress can actually be a healthy thing in the right conditions. In the wrong conditions it can get on top of people in an unhealthy way.
