HI Guys,
This is more of a moan than a question because unfortunately I think the answer is that I can't do anything.
For the last 15 months my hubby hasn't been working, partly due to illness partly due to the fact that our business is not working anymore.
We have been managing on my wage and being able to pay slightly more (maybe a few ponds to a fiver) than the minimum amount on our cards etc. Very slowly balances were starting to drop but now we've come tot he end of the tax year and having just recalculated our tax credits it turns out that our tax credits will drop by about £250 per month. I know to some this will not seem a lot but for me it's massive. We were only just managing on what we wre getting plus my wage, this is going to drop us straight into problems.
Hubby will not claim for anything, He isn't entitled to disability and won't claim jobsekeres or whatever its called now. He cannot work for anyone else de to his illness and the amount of time he needs off work. Yes I know he should claim for what he is entitled to but he won't and I'm not actually sure theres anything he is entitled to.
We've just had a £400 gas bill which I have no way of paying and a £150 elec bill. I am working full time plus doing mystery shops etc and tutoring to try to gt extra cash but I just don't know what I'm going to do now. I am trying so hard to get rid of our debt but don't know what the heck to do now. It feels like one step forward and three back

Hi - I think I would start with an SOA- get it all down on paper so you can see exactly what you have coming in and going out.
You can then assess whether a dmp would be suitable or whether something like a DRO or bankruptcy would be your best bet. When it's all down and black and white your husband may see that it's a choice between him claiming benefits he is entitled to or a dmp/DRO/Bankruptcy.
Have you had a word with CCCS or National Debtline or your local CAB or anybody like that?
