defaults RBS and CCCS

Hi all

2 questions that are quite different any thoughts greatly appreciated.

1.I checked my equifax credit file as i had an email alert on it. It says my loan with RBS has been defaulted. I have not received a notice of default letter,do i give them a call regarding this or keep quiet??

2. - I am with the CCCS and have been on a DMP for 14 months now, all is going well interest has been suspended etc. My car needs some major work shock absorbers, breaks and 2 new tyres eeeeeeeeeek, i'm tempted to give CCCS a ring and ask if i can send a token payment for a couple of months. There is the fear it may bodge things up, interest etc but i need the car for work and if i carry on much longer it may not be that safe.

Thanks for reading

    1. If they are going to default, then better sooner rather than later. In fact, it's possible to argue that they shouldn't have left it that long, but that can be a difficult and technical argument. Certainly forward the default notice/paperwork to PayPlan.

    2. Difficult, but you can only ask CCCS to see what they think? Some creditors may not be happy though as you imply.

If in any doubt about point 2, call CCCS. I'm sure they will agree, however, when you get your bill from the garage send it to CCCS and ask for it to be placed in your file. Your bona fide request for help then has legitimate back up should your creditors complain or come back at you directly. Ask for help, then do what you need to do within reason, proof is always refreshing to have in situations such as this!
