help need advice

Hi my partner walked out on me 3 years ago leaving me to pay the joint mortgage . I have kept up with the payments and cleared the arrears that they got it in to . I have been told by my employer that the overtime at worked will be scaled back to near zero in about 3 months which will make it near impossible to meet the mortgage payments and the bills . This leaves me with about 6 months left before having to give up my house . I informed my mortgage company GE Money UK straight away and requested if the mortgage could be put on to interest only when this happens but to my shock i was told that this could not be done as Ge Money UK have "withdrawn" that product .
The only help that they they could offer was to put me in contact with a member of there premptive arrears team , who discussed my predicament .They advised that i may be able to save money on the website U Switch by switching my utilities and broadband advertise a room for rent and to get some independent financial advice . After a second telephone call to them they agreed to pass on my details to an intermediary of there to discuss a remortgage , but there was no help there as there is not enough equity in the house . I have put the house up for sale but dont think it will sell in time .
When you check out there website it states clearly that if you hit any problems " talk to us , we are committed to working with you".
I just feel like GE Money UK are almost washing there hands of the situation .
I have talked with my ex partner and they cannot help as they are now the main breadwinner in there new life and there partner is unemployed , so they cannot help .
I am pretty scared to be honest and feel very alone in this as i have no family left to speak of. If i get to the point where i can only pay half my mortgage , my credit history will be affected and i could have difficulty renting a property . So do i just walk away whilst my credit history is good .
If the property is auctioned and does not raise enough at auction to pay off the mortgage , the thought of having to go bankrupt and the problems that could cause , almost make me feel physically sick .

Go to the web site www.makesenseofcards.co.uk and complete a satatement of affairs.

Post that on the Debt-Free Wannabe part of this forum and ask for help on a way forwards. It may identify savings. It may, eventually, support you through repossession or bankruptcy, but hopefully this won't happen. If there's a positive solution they'll help you find it there.

Additionally, make an appointment to see a debt charity such as Shelter or the CAB now. It may be a few weeks before they can see you, so move now to get ahead of the queue!

As soon as the mortgage is in arrears, send your ex a letter (retaining a copy) of the amounts involved and ask for help. Do this month after month and include a note reminding him that his credit rating is being damaged as he is jointly liable for the full payment.

    Good luck.
