  • HMV £24.99, less 10% voucher available, less 11% quidco - just over £20 delivered!

HMV are the cheapest because you can get 11% cashback from quidco.. Plus there's usually discount codes about - I preordered when the 15% was on a few weeks back, although as a student it's 10% discount for me anyway!
  • Insert witty signature here!
  • Yeah HMV are always pretty well priced, however, recently I have bought quite a few box sets from their sale and out of 4 I have had to send 2 back to be replaced as they just get bashed about in the post, 1 of which was Planet Earth. I contacted their CS about this and they said there was nothing they could do other than refund or replace.
  • I've also been looking to get the new 5 disc box set and found this on amazon

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Complete-Planet-Special-Exclusive-Amazon-co-uk/dp/B000I5YMZQ/sr=1-1/qid=1164797753/ref=pd_bowtega_1/203-0236714-6715969?ie=UTF8&s=dvd

It has the planet earth box set with the blue planet box set. Its not out until 4th Dec so will look into it. Problem is its exclusive to Amazon and price is £41.24.
The HMV tip by Lellie looks good - thanks.

What else do you expect them to do? Sacrifice a lamb?

This is true about their packing - but their customer service has always been great. Just include a note and send the item back (which is free) and another appears a few days later - usually better packaged!

I buy quite a bit of vinyl and no matter who sends it it seems to get damaged. I complained extensively to HMV after a few previous damaged records arrived and they've since improved their packaging for 12" vinyl - They used to use flimsy cardboard boxes that got crushed - they've now switched to thick cardboard envelopes which is what I recommended and had no problems when the replacements came. Maybe they should do the same for DVDs - I had one this week in a cardboard envelope which was much better than the usual jiffy bag. Our planet earth had a very very slight scuffing mark on they shiny bit, but I think that was there before it was sent.
  • I have just bought one of these for Hubby's Christmas present off Ebay.
It was only £20.99..delivered. The cheapest taht I have found by far. Not really knowing what to expect..but it arrived this morning and it is kosher.

  • betterbargains4u - the link you give shows the 'Blue Planet' which is a different series to the current showing which is called 'Planet Earth' ( i think they are different ?). The blue planet series is about £15 from play.com.

Had no problems with MSE today.

Always worth checking elsewhere before buying on ebay - just because it's on ebay doesn't mean it's a bargain - in fact I have often seen people pay more for a secondhand item on ebay than the price for a brand new one on amazon/ play or hmv!! :)
