whats the difference between dysons?

sorry if this is in the wrong place, i couldn't think where it would go.

My hoover has just given up, and i wanted to invest in a dyson.
I don't have pets but i can get the dyson animal for the same price as the regular - whats the difference? are there different heads?
Ok, ok, i need to go back onto Weightwatchers, lost 7 stone..... 2 back on, this has to change.....Help!!!

    I love my dyson :j

I have the animal it's 7 years old this year and I have just had to replace the motor.

the animal is great if you have a pet as it comes with an attachment that's great for getting pet hairs out I think there is also something about the filters on it but not 100% sure.

The one thing I do know for sure is they are great.

Sorry in my excitment I didn't notice you said you dont have pets.

Neither do I any more :( but I still use the attachemnt. The suction on them is great. I had to use my Vax while I waited on my new motor and it was okay but oh what joy I had when my dyson was working again :rotfl:

thanks, thought while i was investing, i might go for the best, just didn't want to lose any heads/attatchments etc that the all floors one has, i guessed this must be better - its the most expensive one normally!

The animal one has a few attachments too but the surprising thing we found was that spares are not that expensive, i've just paid £39 for a new motor and it was a genuine dyson part.

My OH is an engineer (works on big kites) so he knows what he's doing.

Another thing there good for is if you have been doing any building work you can switch the thing on and leave it in the room and it will clear the air.

One thing to bear in mind is you supposed to wash the filter every 6 months or so. I had had mine for 5 years before I found this out :rotfl:

Just to say I have had mine for 10/11 years and it is still going strong. I have had to replace the suction pipe (dead cheap from the market), and the on off switch no longer works (doesn't stay down on it's own so now it is sellotaped down and I use the on/off switch on the plug point!), but it still does a very good job.
