whats the cheapest antiviral subscription charge

Disregarding the free stuff what do you pay for subscription.
I know the initial package can be cheap, but what about continuation?
eg.I have a trial of symantec corporate antivirus running out
but the subscription is £64 per year.

Why would you want to disregard the free stuff when most people (including my mate who was in charge of global IT Security for a very well know news agency) swear by the stuff for their own computers and say they are much better than norton, mcafee etc?
  • Agreed, the free stuff is made by people who care about computer protection the off the shelf packages are created by people who care about profits. I used Norton but didn't bother renewing it, I also used the one from Panda but that just drained my system resources on startup. Now I use Zonealarm, MS' antispyware software and ad-aware, I haven't had a major problem since!

You'd be surprised at how much more the 'free' packages pick up compared to the ones you have to pay for.

I've used quite a few AV softwares and I think NOD32 is the best. You can see how it competes with the other softwares in its comparison charts.

I like it because its non intrusive, small and doesnt use much PC resources.. however it detects as many if not more than the leading ones like Mcafee and Norton.

    £20 a year subscription.

    ESET NOD32.
