I own a house in Manchester and a few years ago money was taken from my bank by the woolwich who i have my mortgage with as they said my ground rent was in arrears. Can anyone tell me where I find out who to pay my ground rent to please?

Do you have a copy of the lease ? If not the solicitor who conveyanced for you should have - if not ask your neighbours (as possibly same source) - or ask the bank who they paid your money to !

so the land registry says my house is freehold. That means I own everything, right? The land and the house.0

It means there is no lease, therefore no ground rent would be my understanding - ask the bank where they sent it !
There are some third party costs that can be levied on freehold but I'm pretty sure ground rent can't.
