Capital One Debt - Passed to DCA

hey guys
bit of a shot in the dark but I need some advice....
I ran up a debt with Capital One which I have subsequently not been able to pay, this was passed to Debitas last year along with a notice of default, I wrote to them several times offering a repayment plan (having read that I should try and avoid dealing with these people on the phone) and subsequently never recieved a response, I then recieve a letter this morning from Fredrickson International stating that the debt must be paid in full within 7 days or we will take immediate action, they claim they have written to me recently and have yet to recieve a satisfactory response (this is the first letter I have recieved from them) and stating that if they do not hear from me within 7 days with payment in full then they will report to 'their client' that I am refusing to make payment and recommend that they take legal proceedings.
Now having read several topics on here I am confused, obviously this debt is mine and I know I can't argue that one but do Fredrickson own the debt or are they representing Cap 1, Do I deal directly with them or Cap 1 and what on earth do I say?
any help gratefully recieved.

A pity.
Still, I suppose even Fredrickson's buy some debts which are not statute barred.Above all -
Don't panic!0 -
So what would you suggest culex?Cambridgeshire Based Photographer

Frederickson's want you to panic, hence the silly suggestion that you pay up in full or else.
They are bullies and they use terror to exploit their victims.
Show them that you won't be bullied, though, and they'll probably bu[STRIKE]gg[/STRIKE]er off to bully someone else.
They've claimed to have written to you previously?
Well, for £10, you can prove that's a lie by means of a Subject Access Request.0 -
So I take it that's my first point of call thenCambridgeshire Based Photographer

just write toFrederickson's and tell them you will carry on paying capital one until they tell you not to do so. Pay what you can afford and not what they tell you. then you will find out if they have brought the debt or not, if they have then you pay frederickson's
never call them, they lie and try to bully you0
