Getting Vellum printed for inserts

I am making our invites and am really pleased with the samples, so is hubby to be (HOORAY! :j ) apart from one thing... the vellum inserts, for 2 reasons:
1: Our printer is pretty rubbish, so the font doesn't come out very dark meaning it is a little tricky to read, we have quite a few older guests coming.
2: Our invites are A6, meaning I have to get 4 inserts onto a page, all spaced equally, which is not as easy as it sounds, then cut them all exactly right, straight and even.

Hubby to be has suggested that it will probably be more cost effective to have them printed as I messed up quite a few in "practise" plus I haven't factored in the cost of ink, or the fact that the printer could well just give up the ghost halfway through!

So... I have emailed PDA for a quote, but does anyone know anywhere else that might do such a thing?

Thanks!!!

Emma

Staples have a printing service where I am from. Wonder if they could print them for you?

Also would a guilatine (sp?) make cutting them out evenly easier?

Vellum sheets really need a laserjet and not your normal home inkjet

We've just printed some invites on pewter (shiny silver) and is was a !!!!!!.

You could always trim the a4 to a5, then print that .. It'll be easier to align 2 per page, then 4 per page as we find the left and right margins do not always line up properly.

Failing that, one you're happy with 4 per a4 page, contact your local printers, and as if they would help cut to a6 for you. (You could say you're looking at business card after the wedding)

I hadn't thought of printing onto a5. That might be easier, so I think I'll attempt that first.

I tried shiny silver first, but then decided just plain white was FAR easier!!!

eBay will have sellers able to print for you if you know what it is you want. Search for "vellum invitation" and send a question off to a few sellers asking how much they'd charge you.
    I love surprises!
