I showed my husband this idea and the poem, he liked it so much he wants us (me) to make three of them for his relatives now for christmas.
I guess that's me looking for golden pots and/or candle glasses the next couple of days :rotfl:
Thanks funkiestmunkiest for the idea and cattie1 for the poem. If I can find and finish these pots I got all the christmas gifts for this year sorted.
  • I have also decided to steal this idea and was looking for either card treasure chests or cheap cold containers as OP was. Did anyone have any look finding anything?

try wilkinson they often have lots of gold pots and boxes this time of year
  • I managed to find loads of gold candle holders, bowls etc., in Au Naturale some were 49p! I bought glittery ones for 70p from there and they look great! So if anyone's still looking for 'pots' and have an Au Naturale nearby definitely go there.

I couldn't find any chocolate coins in Asda or Tesco (couldn't believe that!) so picked up some in Thorntons for 99p per bag, and intend to split 3 bags between 5 pots ...Just need to get lottery tickets now!

Thanks for all your suggestions! x

  • Daughter is 16 this week so I'm going to do this for her as she can legally have a lottery ticket then :)

I am sitting in bed as a result of a torn ligament and I see gold boxes, very Christmassy, which I bought from TK Maxx last year.
    What a great idea!

  • There wasn't a post on the forums about this (well, not that I noticed before I posted!) but, it is on the main site...

    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/cgi-bin/viewnews.cgi?newsid1132666777,4572,

You need to scroll down a bit to find it (in the Buy It) section. There are plenty other ideas on there too :D
