Wholesale companies help

Not sure if this is the right place to post this,so apologies if it's not. I recently started a small business making hair accessories to make a few extra pennies. I've been buying the stuff I need off ebay because I've only needed small quantities but have just been given a fairly decent wholesale order if I want it.
For it to be worth my while doing it I need to source cheaper products but I'm really struggling. I know google should be my friend but its not
When I type in what I think should be key words I'm getting sites in the USA. Is there anyone who knows of any UK wholesale companies for this type of thing or know what key words I could use. (I originally got the idea from an American website so think the words I use might be americany (if thats a word).
I've also looked on Alibababa and they have some of the things I want but language seems to be a problem. I'd prefer to find a UK/Manchester based wholesaler where I could view things and postage and customs isn't an issue, as money is very tight and I can't afford to make any mistakes ordering the wrong things
