OH was recently on a trial that overall lasted 7/8 wks he didn't mind he got to sit down all day instead of delivering mail... the judge got really stroppy with people asking to be excused as it was the 3rd time they had tried to pick a jury for this particular trial..

When I did Jury Service one of the Jurors got a telling off from the Judge for being back late from lunch. She had to see him in his "chambers" and was told in no uncertain terms that it had better not happen again.

This happened on a previous Jury Service that OH served on (he's been called twice) and when the judge asked here why she was late , she said she'd been shopping and lost track, then he asked her if she bought anything and how much it cost.. and he promptly fined her the same amount..

Hehe... I'll remember not to be late back from lunch then! And if I am, I will only have spent 50p ;)
