Lloyds TSB Mortgage Payments

I have my mortgage with Lloyds TSB. I have just made my first payment which is bigger than the agreed amount for the monthly payments. I would like to know if Lloyds mortgage payments are paid in arrears or if they are paid in advance. For example an agreed payment of £240/month with a first payment being £340. My re-mortgage deal was closed middle of the month. Any explanation and help to understand this is much appreciated. Thanks

Mark

Well Mark your first payment will have been for one month and a few days to take you up to the payment date!
For example you exchange on the 1st of the month and make your first payment on the 15th so you pay one month and 14days
Next month you will pay your normal amount !
this is normal or you would be in arrears every month
