inheritance in estate

Hello all just wanted to see if anyone would have any idea how my situation will pan out before i speak to the or. I went bankrupt last november and have not been discharged yet and look like i am coming into a large inheritance as i just lost both grandparents unexpectanly which will clear the debts owed through the bankruptcy leaving near well over what i owed. I really dont want to loose this house as its close to my family and myself. Will the or likely put some sort of charge on the house or make me sell as i live in it with my partner. Any ideas or experiance out there that can help rest my mind over these hard times?? I hope this is clear i do rattle on.

Are you going to get money which will clear the debts? if so they will just take that clear the debt and leave you with the house. On the plus side if the money clears the debt you will no longer be br :) If it is the house you are being left then yes they could make you sell it but if you or a family member can raise a mortgage to buy the house for the value of the debt then maybe you could clear the debt be br free and keep the house in the family

thanks for the reply, i am only getting the house not any money. I do not know how likely it will be to get a mortgage for 50k but it will be worth a try. I suppose i am wishing a charge could be done, but i cant do anything untill probate is all completed which could take months.

inheritance has been spoke at length over the last couple of weeks or so, as to how the OR treats it etc so check through some back posts.

annuling a BR is not that simple as the costs are absoutely huge, its not a simple case of repaying the debts you went BR on but the admin costs of the OR.,and i understand these are very very high, if not more than you went BR on.

So after probate, OR could enforce the sale and then return any surplus from the sale, but the BR is still active.

They are not out to get you and they may agree to a charge on the house until you are able to settle the debt rendering you BR Free
