BarclayCards so called 'Customer Service'

Hi guys,

I was wondering if anybody has a UK based contact centre number for BarclayCard as their offshore advisors dont seem to be able to understand me!

I have contacted them on a number of occasions about some red marks for problems which are their fault. I.E losing money which I paid in at their branch etc. They finally filled in a form to have it changed but i dont think the advisor understood what had actually happened as he was permanently putting me hold and passing me to different departments!

Their customer really is something that baffles me everytime i call, I think its hilarious - they dont seem to be able to deal with even the most simple request and miss out vital information when processing them! I thought nobody could beat skys appaulling customer service but this something else!

I changed my direct debit details but they failed to tell me that it could take a whole 6 weeks for them to process it, and I missed two payments before they sent me a letter! THen they have the cheek to mark my credit report!

any help please people?

Ask to speak to customer relations department.
You can demand to speak to there UK call centre, its your right.

    I feel your pain.

Their customer service is appalling from the Indian call centre

It not your right to demand to speak to someone in the uk, its upto their own internal process. Been honest its best to be a written complaint than verbal.
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.
  • First timer here. Have previously looked on the forum but never felt the need to contribute until today. I tried to make a telephone purchase about 90 minutes ago - the transaction didn't go through so I rang the call centre and spoke to 2 advisors who told me that my account had been closed - I had not received any communication from barclaycard prior to this. Just 5 minutes ago a letter arrived confirming the closure of my 0% 12 months platinum barclaycard.

The card was only issued less than a month ago and the first direct debit payment is due on 15.4.11.

They tell me that I no longer meet the lending criteria but cannot discuss this because the criteria is confidential company information.

The payment terms/conditions haven't changed so presumably I still have the 0% 12 months deal. Default will trigger debt collection/legal action.

My credit limit is (was) £5k but I have already spent in excess of £2.5k - has this triggered something which would suggest that I am loading the card up and then pay it off in full without paying any interest?

This is the latest in a very long line of 0% cards over the past 7/8 years - I have never paid a penny interest and all cards are cancelled when the 0% period ends.

Just wondering if this has happened to others?
