Can we still get a mortgage ?

Hi,
This is my first time posting although I've spent many months just reading threads and posts on here.
I have recently moved in with my boyfriend, who owns his own house. We are looking to buy our own house.
He has an excellent credit history, whereas mine is poor. I have missed payments and defaulted a couple of times, although I am now paying my debts each month on lower agreed payments.
Are we still able to get a mortgage or will my poor credit history jepoardise this ?
Any help / views would be great
Thanks

You will be able to get a mortgage probably - however depending on the "bad history" it could mean higher rates available.
Than again, some lenders will offer "normal" rates.
But basically you should be ok for the mortgage just as long as your income is enough for the mortgage amount requested.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
