debt advice network have let me down

Been waiting for them to get back to me, it's been 3 weeks since i sent off paperwork and i was wondering if they're legit. Found them on a brochure produced by GMB, my husbands union, so thought they were ok. Having done a little digging tonight found that they're not very good at all. As other people have had a similiar experience - no contact from them and being told not to talk/write to creditors as they will deal with it all. My suspisions were aroused when got a call today from one of our creditors and they had had no contact from DAN.
So maybe it's back to CAB, yes we have been here before through accumulated bank charges now it's really a drop in income that has created this mess, at least this time its non priority debts that are the issue, last time we were very close to being evicted, cut off from elec and everything. I'm not particularly worried as we are 'safe' but the credit card people are very persistent with their calls and letters.
The ones solely in my husbands name are the biggest issue because he won't talk/deal with them at all, and obviously the companies won't talk to me. He's boardering on depression so i won't force him to deal with it but i know he would be happier if they weren't hassling him everyday. Any advice on this issue very much appreciated.

Send the bu[STRIKE]gg[/STRIKE]ers a letter, telling them to cease and desist from contacting you/your husband by telephone, mobile 'phone or text message; henceforth, all communication must be in writing.
Be sure to send it by Recorded Delivery, if not by Special Delivery - "Special" costs more, but it is tracked at every changeover.0
