Hi All, I just wanted to know what you think the bestest way is to get odd jobs in my local area? I would like to earn a bit more like eg gardening, painting and woodwork but as most people go online these days is there a site i can put an advert on? or is it just putting a card through doors?
Cheers Adam

Gumtree is a good one for local areas, other than that, putting cards up in shop windows, going door to door and speaking to people directly, at least that way they will get to speak to you in person.0

Yeah that's what I thought I did put an advert on gumtree and got a job to look at tonight so hopefully it might start it off as they might know other people who wants stuff done and cheers for the reply.0

Word of mouth is priceless really, it only takes one good job done to get it started also.0

Agree that word of mouth is priceless!
Have you got any friends that could stick some flyers up on their work notice board for you? Nice cheap way to advertise.0 -
Yeah I have friends lol well I'm a cabinet maker during the day so I'm good at wood work but yeah I need to give some mates a flyer to put up in their work offices and I like gardening aswell maybe I will have a walk round this weekend and give some cards to this person I'm seeing tonight to give to people at their work0

In my town, the local handyman puts flyers under the wipers of cars in the town centre car park. I don't know how successful he is, but it's a quick way of getting your name and details to hundreds of potential customers.

Or a quick way of getting a mouthful of abuse if the car owner sees you doing it...junk mail through my letter box I can handle because it was at least designed for people putting stuff through. Wipers are for me to clean my windscreen with and nothing else!
Rant over

Yeah that is what i would be afraid of and that would be to annoy someone by putting them on their screens or in their letter box. I priced that job tonight and got it plus there is loads to do there so a good little earner.0
