To stay on existing mortgage or fix it

Hi
I hope someone can give me some advice.
My current mortgage fixed period comes to an end next month and reverts to bank of England base + 1.49% and I currently have £134k outstanding with a LTV of 64%ish.
This is my first house and I feel i made a mistake in fixing my mortgage when I bought (despite searching and finding what I thought was the best deal at the time). I don't want to make a costly mistake and fix [FONT="]unnecessarily.
So can anyone give me some advice on do I stick with my currently mortgage and make overpayments while i can or fix for 3/5 years with less ability for overpayments?
Thanks in advance Kris

Can you not get a fixed mortgage that also allows for overpayments? My C&G one allows this.0

Thanks for your reply.
I can get a fixed mortgage that allows it. My current mortgage does but my funds however do not always allow this. If I stay on my existing deal which reverts from 5.34% to currently 1.99% this will allow me to put anything i'm saving into overpaying. I just don't want to do this if it means rates sky rocket before I have a chance to enjoy the lower rate.0
