Mortgage for property abroad/remortgage

Hi all,

I am after a bit of advice. I have a mortgage abroad for a house i am having built. The mortgage will not however cover the whole of the build so i am having to remortgage. The problem is - when building a house money is paid in 10k intervals for banks security and i cant remortgage untill the whole amount is taken out. but to take all out i need to put 20k of my own money...

anyway.. i am hoping to get a mortgage in the uk, pay off the foreign bank off and then finish off the build.

Can anyone advise which bank is the best one to try (for mortgages abroad?)
