I was declared Bankrupt and released in 2007 after personal debt. On my insolvency from I declared 2 debts with HSBC roughly amounting to over £11000, and 5 other debts. I have been having trouble opening a current account and was advised to check my credit report with Experian which I have just done. The 2 debt with HSBC are still there, in default...

my local co-operative bank is 22 miles from where i live and ive been with them 3 years and not needed to pop into the branch for anything0 -
Even having cleaned up your credit file you may find it difficult to obtain a full current account with cheque book.
Co-op Cashminder and Barclays Basic Account may be an option for you if you tell them you were BR but are now discharged, they are both BR friendly accounts so should be no problem post BR. Both give a debit card, online banking (post BR), DD and SO facilities. When I joined, I needed a name. The forum members gave one to me...I am INAN

The individual debts that were included in your bankruptcy will stay on your credit report and should show as defaults, but as the bankruptcy has ended any defaults should be marked as satisfied and should pre-date the bankruptcy. You could add a note to your report explaining that the individual debts were included in and cleared by your bankruptcy. This would drop off your report with the bankruptcy and the defaults in 2013.
