New Job- salary paid half in advance half in arrears

Hi everyone.
Iv just started a new job (on the 4th) and have read in my contract that salary will be paid on the 15th of the month, half in advance, half in arrears.
Does anyone know much I can expect to receive in my first pay cheque?
I have asked HR about this, but they havent been very helpful, and as Iv had to relocate for the job, money is incredibly tight at the moment!
Thanks in advance for your help.

You can expect to get (30-3)/30 of your month's gross salary - but, of course, with deductions for tax and NI.
We can't tell you what you will get if we don't know your gross annual salary and your previous or current year's tax code.0 -

My annual salary is £25,000, and this is my first job as I have just finished my PhD so this will be my first salaried job.0 -
Using standard 747L tax code (which I assume you will have) and with no pension contributions, I would expect take home pay for April of approximately £1,481.73. It would be higher in the following months.0

If the question is about the half in advance, half in arrears thing, then you will receive the whole month's pay, less 3 days (as you didn't start on the first of the month).0

Do check with payroll that you are included on this month's pay run, as sometimes, organisations can be incredibly brutal about making you wait until payday next month if you were not put on the system by the cutoff date.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. and the cutoff date may seem surprisingly early to you: however it can take time to check that all the right documents have been received and filled in correctly.DVardysShadow wrote: »Do check with payroll that you are included on this month's pay run, as sometimes, organisations can be incredibly brutal about making you wait until payday next month if you were not put on the system by the cutoff date.
If you have missed the cutoff point, it's worth asking for an advance!Signature removed for peace of mind0
