https://www.tescopricecheck.com/PriceCheck/Pages/StoreCompare/StoreReceiptResult.aspx?requestId=f549d941-7c89-4f0f-a34c-b850ee2887ee

I believe it is because the exact same item is not available in ASDA/Tesco i.e. Fusili Pasta in Tesco (own brand) might be a 500g bag but in Asda (Own Brand) might be 460g therefore it would not be fair to produce a comparison price for it.

I think it would be fair, if we all jump on the "look at the unit price" band wagon. They could work out that if you bought from us, you would have paid 10p per 100g, but if you'd bought from the other shop you would ave paid 8p per 100g.

But having said that, quite a few of the items on that list are brand names, so they should be the same size in all shops.

    1 x BETTY CROCKER BISQUICK 500G
1 x KP HULA HOOPS CLASSIC 12 PACK
    1 x HEINEKEN LAGER 6X330ML IMPORTED 5% CANS
    1 x CARNATION EVAPORATED MILK 3X170G
    1 x FOX'S GLACIER FRUITS 200G
    1 x WALKERS WOTSITS VARIETY 14PK

    According to Asda.com :-

1 x BETTY CROCKER BISQUICK 500G - Asda sell a number of Betty Crocker products, but not this one.
1 x KP HULA HOOPS CLASSIC 12 PACK - Asda only sell 7 and 18 packs.
    1 x HEINEKEN LAGER 6X330ML IMPORTED 5% CANS - Asda don't sell those
1 x CARNATION EVAPORATED MILK 3X170G - Asda only sell the tins individually.
    1 x FOX'S GLACIER FRUITS 200G - Asda don't appear to sell them
    1 x WALKERS WOTSITS VARIETY 14PK - Asda only sell a 6 pack.

Asda sell the Bisto Gravy Granules, but have the weight listed as 360g instead of the 300g listed by Tesco.
Wheat Crunchies - Asda list a 6 pack, but not a 10 pack.
Goodfellas Pizza - Asda don't sell that one.

I hate to disagree but they should still compare these products as the difference between them is under 10%.

If you think they are conning you do one of two things.

    1) Don't take part

    2) Complain either to Tesco or to the advertising standards.

By 'should' I presume that you mean that they are comparable by mySupermarket rules. But since it's Tesco's game that's being played, it's their rules that apply.
  • For me they compared prices which were of different packs sizes of the same product :S
  • The doubter in me believes that anything not compared may be cheaper in Asda which means that Tesco would work out dearer and that is not something they wish for. So they put up the N/A option.

May or may not be the case but I do find it odd sometimes that a lot of same size branded products cannot be compared.

If you have some spare time and not much happening you could do an online shop and compare total bill.
Well....... I thought it was good!!
