Do you know what address it is for and what period? Were you ever responsible for CT at that address regardless of date? Were you responsible for CT at that address and for the dates claimed? Was a liablility order ever issued against you for CT?Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. You really need to get in touch with the council and find out what they think you owe and why and what has happened to each debt.
I'd email them first (so it might get dealt with quicker) and also send a hard copy in the post.
Make it clear you're not refusing to pay but you require proof you owe the money.
Also ask them to put the bailiffs on hold until they/you get to the bottom of the matter.
I'd also write to the bailiffs and explain to them you are querying the debt with the council.
Write to the head of Council tax at the council in the first instance but if you can't get it sorted then you might have to involve your local councillor (or the councillor local to the council concerned) and complain to the head of the council and then possibly to an ombudsman if you still can't get any sense.

You need copies of the liability orders for each year.
You also need to understand the concept of joint and several liability. If you lived in the house/flat but expected your then BF to pay the Council Tax whiklst you paid another bill, and he did not pay the CT you are BOTH jointly and severally liable for the full amount.
So you need to write down the years involved on the orders, work out if you lived at that address, check whether you were exempt for some reason (full-time student, signing on etc) and that will give you some idea of your liability. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0
