Anyone recommend a mortgage product suitable for being mortgage free?

hi

i'm coming to the end of my mortgage deal so need to remortgage. i've been reading about the mortgage free idea on these sites...someone mentioned mortgages where you can put money in and take it out etc without being penalised...

can someone let me know what is this type of remortgage known as and would it be the best type of deal for someone trying to get rid of mortgage..? is it what they call the flexible mortgage?

the one i'm thinking of is a tracker but i can only overpay by 10% but just curious for now about the other types out there

thank you

  • The moneysavingsupermarket is a good site for looking at the top of the market deals, but you'll still need to do your research; there probably isn't going to be 'one perfect mortgage', it will depend on your priorities. Ive only had my mortgage for 7 months but I'm already thinking about where to go once he 2 year fixed part of mine comes off. I have been turning over the idea of an Offset mortgage, that way I'll be utilizing all of my money but still have he money available if needed.

Read through the guide to mortgages on this website. Lots of trackers allow you to overpay as much as you want.
In all honesty, if you are that unaware of what's out there then read as much as you can and seek help. If you use a broker, make sure they advise on ALL products in the Market rather than just one company they work for. This is all covered in the guide available on this site.
