Nor do I, for those mutton-heads tried to chase me some years ago for an alleged debt which, even if it had not been paid off by a consolidation loan, would have been statute barred some two years previously. Fortunately, I already knew about the Limitation Act 1980 though not enough to cite section 5 so, when one of their oiks telephoned me, I told him that I would not be paying one penny piece on that alleged debt as it was too old to be enforced.

"Oh yes, you will" was the jerk's reply. "We might not be able to take you to court over this, but I can keep ringing you up all day, every day! You'll soon get sick of us!"

At that, I hung up and sent "ATS0=3"to my modem so that, when he called back (as I knew he would) he was sweetly serenaded with the usual "beeeep ... beeeep" as my system attempted a handshake. He soon gave up.

OH and you may need to keep repeating yourself it took me three letters saying I'll pay you as soon as you confirm these points before I finally got one that said they would close the account and not chase the remainder of the debt.
Does that prove what I have long suspected - that none of them has the brains of a peanut? :D
