Bank Account Debt Post BR

Hi ,
I went BR last November, and included my Nationwide Bank Account at the time, it had a balance of £8 if my memory serves me right.
I included it as I assumed that Nationwide would close the account.
I set up a new account with the Co-op, which I have been using since BR without any problems, internet banking etc.
I keep receiving statements from Nationwide, the balance now is into minus figures (-£9) but creeping up, although only minute amounts......interest charged 11p last month.
Should I write back to them and tell Nationwide that the account was included in BR and should be closed etc? The account went into a minus figue as someone tried to collect a direct debit in error post BR.
Thanks

I would check with the OR to see what they told NW about this account. If they declared no interest then that might be why the account remained open, and you might be liable for the debt too as run up post BR.
If the OR just wrote to say you are BR, the usual letter that would have a bank immediately close an account, then you may be able to include the debt in your BR as the account should have been closed.
However, it's only a few quid, if you jump on it now, pay it off and send a letter closing the account, problem solved. When I joined, I needed a name. The forum members gave one to me...I am INAN
