hi
we have a second viewing for a property on monday. we are looking at moving around august this year. We are first time buyers. I have been looking into mortgages and all seems fine with what we can get and the costs. But, when do you think we need to start looking for the one for us and not just looking for possible ones in general? I don't want to spend hours searching to find that we don't need to apply until June or July and all the ones I've found have ended, but I want to keep on top of all the possibilities.

The time to apply for a mortgage is when you have an offer accepted on the property you wish to buy. Go have your second viewing and you might find you're looking to apply in the next couple of weeks, even though you don't intend to complete for a few months.I am a mortgage broker.
