sound advice needed about Fnd work placement?

Does anyone know the facts anyone work for the JCP?

I am due to start my 4 weeks work placement as i am coming to the end of my FND.

At my last one i choose the placement and i worked in our family business. The provider was happy with that.

Now fast forward and my advisor (different one) has said she dosent think i should do the same placement again i suggested it. She said i should think of going somewhere different for a new experience. But does it really matter? Who has the say? I want to do the same placement again she is more keen for me to go somewhere else?

We are due to meet soon so i would like to know where i stand? Is it my right to choose the same again. Also what happens if i refuse to go on it at all? Do they really stop your money and if so for how long? Or is it all scaremongering?

Don't know the ins and outs of fnd but consider this.

The last placement with the family, did not help. There was no job at the end of it and your still job-hunting, so try something else?

Plus working for your family business won't be the same as if you work for anyone else , so try something else?

How about no longer being masochistic?
    How about remembering your divinity?
How about unabashedly bawling your eyes out?
How about not equating death with stopping?

Why not view this as an oppertunity to broaden your horizons and extend networking contacts?

I just want to say, do that your heart and mind say to do. if you want to go in same business then should go because it will be your decision.

Your adviser would not be doing her job properly if she didn't recommend you try broadening your skill base and experience. The placement is not about convenience, it's designed to try and help. Sure you say "most" of them don't get people work but what is to say that will be the case for you?

I take it the adviser has asked you what your job goals are and what you would like to achieve? Does the family business actually meet those needs? Even if they do, what's to say that working for another company doing the same thing wouldn't actually help you get a different perspective on how things are done?

If you have no intention of working for the family business in the future then the placement is a waste of time and merely serves to allow you to fulfil the requirements of the scheme and nothing more.

Embrace change, it can be refreshing...
