We're up to date (just barely) - though we've made so many late payments and gone over our agreed credit so many times that we've fairly comprehensively knackered our credit rating anyway (according to my bank).
And to be honest, the only way we've been able to make payments is by borrowing more from somewhere else. I can't keep it up.
Mortgage - yes, it's high. It was the best rate we could get at the time. We're just over a year into a 5-year fixed term with penalties.
I've spoken to the Co-op about my Cashminder account (for DMP purposes), and they also put me in touch with a mortgage adviser, just to see if it is possible to duck out of the fixed rate early.0 -
I know it would only be a drop in the ocean but do you or your wife do all the survey websites? I am 'between jobs' for two weeks and made over £20 on top cash back this week doing all the free things on there.
Also, your wife could have a look on gumtree, I've found someone who wants their pets fed for a week over Easter and a one day leaflet delivery job for an estate agent - which on a day like today wouldn't be a bad way to spend the day (its sunny where I am).
There is also the usual sell everything on ebay etc. I did two car boot sales last year and made £60 and £85. Most things I sold were £1 but it all adds up. For me it was the perfect way to spend time - getting rid of the junk and making money. Children's toys and clothes went really well and the children at the stall next to us really enjoyed selling their stuff (although yours might be too young for it).
Sorry if you've tried all that already but it really does make a difference. I enjoy any extra £1 I can bring in! (got £2.50 off my shop with nectar points yesterday - I was very excited!)0 -

Survey websites... I'm a newbie. Don't know anything about them. Will investigate!
Gumtree... also a new one on me! I'll have a look at it. We live about half an hour past the middle of nowhere, and from the looks of the site it's quite city-centric, but thank you for the tip!0 -
I use mysurvey, globaltestmarket, onepoll and Toluna. It is slow progress but I use the points to get Amazon Vouchers and then buy birthday presents with them. If you have an iphone you can get apps for topcashback, onepoll and Toluna.
If you want me to invite you to join any of them, I don't mind.
I wonder if there is anything similar to gumtree that is more local.0 -

Hey,
Also another drop in the ocean but use freegle (freecycle) if you can if you need something. It's amazing and one mans junk is another's treasure... I have given and received more than I can count on there.
