How long to wait after an interview before contacting employer.

OK, had my first interview on 25th March with local community organisation. Seemed to go well but as it was my first for over 10 years it was a bit difficult to tell.
Since the interview I've heard nothing, and have assumed that I haven't got the job, but I would like to ask for feedback about how they felt I performed on the day.
Is it too soon to e-mail them basically to say that as I haven't heard anything I assume I haven't got the job but could they give me some feedback?
