Renting our house out for the Open

There are loads of agencies in edinburgh that deal with renting out houses just for the festival, could try doing a search for them (don't know any off hand tho).

When the open was in East Lothian, a local estate agent handled most of the local short lettings. I think they advertised in the local papers for suitable residencies.:j0

When the Open is in St Andrews one agent mainly handles it all, Pagan Osbourne. They might be able to offer advice on who deals with properties for Carnoustie.0

The prices that some people are looking for are truly obscene. But if folk are mad enough to pay those kind of prices, good luck to them. I was looking at rentals for Carnoustie, so perhaps with rentals in Monifieth and Barnhill, you would be looking at a smaller rental? Unless you offered to chauffeur them about. (Not advisable, it's bad enough driving about Carnoustie at the best of times, let alone during the Open.)
Dates of the Open are from Thursday 19th July to Sunday 22nd July.
Can't give any advice about renting, but from what I can gather, golfers are quite a good lot. They are hardly in the house, just use it mainly as somewhere to put their weary heads after a day out watching the golf, followed by being sociable in the local drinking establishments.0 -
No clue how you would go about it but I do know that a few years ago when it was in Gullane people from Gullane, North Berwick and Aberlady were renting out for ridiculous amounts of money.0
