Curious

I got a text today offering me the following:

"Due to a new legislation, those struggling with debt can now apply to have it written off. For more information text the word 'INFO' or to opt-out text stop."

Interestingly none of my creditors have ever had my mobile phone number, except maybe the bank I had to leave to open the Co-op account. However, I did include it on my SOA, however no telephone numbers are shown for me on the Insolvency site.

Makes you wonder just how reliable First Direct are if even they are willing to sell on details.

Thinking about it a bit more, it could just be a coincidence that I've received such a text now and nothing to do with having gone BR. ;)

perhaps if you txt'd INFO, they'd come back the answer 'do exactly what you have just done?'

    Love it Alistair :D

I think it's about doing a DRO cos that's the only 'new' legislation although it's not that new any more.

So maybe they'd come back with "oh blast, too late" :rotfl:

Suspect it is DRO's, I used to get automated messages at work for these.

I did have fun speaking to someone one day (I was in a bad mood), and telling them the message was wrong (it said DRO had happened in the last few months, when it was over a year since they were introduced), that I was fully aware of DRO's as used to work for IS, and then asking them to remove the number from their database.

They hung up, but not had any phone calls since :rotfl:

I did text STOP and not had any more from them. If I do I'll just get the number blocked.

I'm sure the staff are briefed in what the companies want them to know and not the truth...

you usually find in their adverts that is is "new legislation" for about the first 10 years, after that it becomes "little known legislation"

it could be a scam! you text back and get locked into a premium number thing which takes all your credit, so please be careful I got scammed like that once before and you CAN'T stop it:eek:
If you woke up this morning congratulations, you have another chance :j
