in Cutting tax
Hello,
I worked up until Aug 2010 with my last employer before going on ESA (employment support allowance) and have been on ESA ever since. I looked on the HMRC site and it said that if you have paid too much tax (which I have as I was on 40% threshold) and you don't come off benefits you will automatically get a rebate once the tax year is over.
Does anyone know how long this process normally takes? By my calculations I had 4 months of the new tax year 2010 - 2011 on a very high tax code.
Thanks
