Can I make bread using extra virgin olive oil ?

Can I simply replace olive oil with extra virgin olive oil in my bread mixture as I have quite a big bottle

    Yes, that'll work fine. :)

    We use whatever's to hand - even veg oil is fine.

    I don't see why not.I use any oil that is to hand and it works fine.

    Yes, that will be fine. May even add a little flavour - depends how much you use. I have used some cheap sesame that needed using up and it tasted a bit like tiger bread.

    I have used chilli and garlic dipping oil and DH said it was his favourite loaf!

    Isn't that what ciabatta bread is? ie made with olive oil

    As above any form of oil or butter will add flavour to the bread.

    If you don't have any form of oil or butter then simply leave it out it is not absolutly essential but will make a tastier loaf.

    When I was a baker some 20 odd years ago we used to guess the quantities of everything and got used to the 'feel' of the dough. I do understand that a breadmaker is more sensitive though.

    My lot love tiger bread so I'm going to give that a whirl tonight :D

    try painting the loaf with olive oil while it's still hot, it gives a lovely tasty almost flaky crust :)
