Bankrupty Fee

Hi all,

Sorry it's me again, another question how would the OR look if i paid my BR fee with whats left on my credit card, I could withdraw the cash from it and would be able to afford my fee's straight away, would they frown at this ?

Thanks
Matt

I've read many entries on this forum where people have had to take that route. You can explain your case when your or speaks to you.
    2019 MFW No. 74 £13700/£30000 (45.66%)
    12k in 2018 No. 98 £6274.19/£18000 (34.85%)

    BTL (start) £97440.00 (current) £68000.00
    Residential (start) £275000.00 (current) £268000.00

For many people it's a case of continuing to rob peter to pay paul and using the credit cards to do so whilst saving up BR fees, or doing just as you suggest. So the ORs are accepting of this route as they understand in a lot of instances the money would be spent on living costs anyway.

You could disguise the transaction a little by using the credit card to buy stuff you would have paid cash for, such as food and fuel.

Neveragain so you mean instead of out of my wages piut my shopping on the credit card and save the fee from my wages to pay the bankrupty, thats a good idea :)

That's what I was saying above. At the end of the day it doesn't matter whether you use the card for shopping or to pay your BR fees, you're still going to run it up some before going BR if you want to do it sooner rather than later.

Plenty have used their cards for BR fees in the past and the OR will understand this.

Agreed, but best not to rub his nose in it, if that can be easily avoided, which it can.

The OP can save a few hundred from his wages and only draw the rest on the card, maybe in two lumps a week or so apart.
