govermentdetasistance dot co dot uk

Hi guys, I'm really sorry if this is in the wrong part of the forum, but this is my first time here so I was a little unsure of where to post it.

Has anyone come across or used the website 'governmentdebtassistance dot co dot uk' before?
(It won't let me post links.)
I stumbled upon it but am a little wary of putting my details into it because I can't seem to find any other information about it online.

I was hoping someone on here might be able to shed some light onto the matter. I'm currently in search of a trustworthy and affordable means of consolodating credit card debts and overdrafts.

Thanks for reading! :)

    As you should be!

What an amateur and dodgy looking website.:eek::eek:

No company number, no consumer credit license, no MoJ authorization, no DPA registration.

Wow, thank you for all of your quick and helpful responses! It's really frustrating knowing that there could be sites out there hoping to catch unsuspecting people of guard.
    Thanks for the links Fermi!

Mr.P there are thousands of them. The ONLY safe places to get advice are on the links Fermi gave you.
I refuse to be afraid of the big bad wolf, spiders, or debt collection agencies; one of them's not real and the other two are powerless without my fear.
(Ok, one of them is powerless, spiders can be nasty.)

As of the last count I have cleared
    [STRIKE]23.16%[/STRIKE] 22.49% of my debt. :(

10 seconds thought, not even looking at it. It is a scam or a con, or misrepresentation of some sort.

If it were anything to do with government, it would be a .gov.uk and not a co.uk

Curiousity has got the better of me and I've just read that site. Clearly what they are is a mailing list. (S)He'll sell your details to debt management companies, IVA providers, buy-and-rent-back-schemes and so on. You will then be innundated with sales calls which will promise you the moon on a stick but which wont put that in writing.

Worryingly on his/her drop down menu for living situation M Edwards gives the following options: "Home Owner, Tennant, Living With Friends, Living With Relatives". You what? Living with friends and living with relatives? Well firstly what was wrong with the standard "other" where no rent is being paid, and where rent is payable then you are a tennant no? Your legal status is not what M Edwards wants to know though. I thinlk what M Edwards wants to know is, is that your Mum you see every day as you get your breakfast or some girl called Helen you knew at school and who offered you a spare room because it beats being lonely? The major difference between Helen your Mum and Helen your chum is if M Edwards little mates can really, really manipulate you, scare you, promise you relief if you pay xx% up front and all the rest, Mummy will bail you out. So you don't even need to have your own money, M Edwards will pass your details to companies who specialise in scaring you witless even if you'rebroke... so long as Mummy or another relly is on scene to play along.

Report it as a scam peoples.

I reported it, of course - for all the good it may do. The site seems to have the IP address of 64.34.253.22 and appears to be hosted in New York State.

How like an American to suppose this:

is a coat of arms for the UK government; if it is anything, it might be a Scottish coat of arms.

So Hugh Janus (tel. 0161 872 5050) should live at home with Mumsy? :rotfl:
