Help!! Redundancy & Pregnancy advice needed

Hi All,

Our company has today announced that over the next 24 hours they will be making extensive redundancies. My dept is due to have more details about specific positions being cut tomorrow morning, but it his highly likely that my position is under consideration.
I am pregnant, and intended to wait until I have had my first scan (in 2 weeks time) before telling them.

I do not know whether decisions about which roles will be terminated have already been made, whether decisions will be made based on the one-to-one meetings we are due to have or a mixture of the two.

My question is should I tell my employers that I am pregnant before the one-to-one meeting takes place tomorrow? I have no idea whether telling them would count for or against me in any way - obviously they cannot choose to make me redundant specifically because I am pregnant but I am worried they will find alternative reasons to lay me off more readily if I do tell them.

Does anyone have any experience of pregnancy and redundancy? Any advice would be so greatly appreciated.

Personally I would say nothing, as then you know if you're made redundant, it was purely based on your position, and nothing to do with the pregnancy.

Also, they've probably already decided who is staying and going, so by telling them you're pregnant, it won't actually achieve anything, and if anything, might even make it more likely to lead to redundancy (which they can't do, but it would be near impossible to prove...).
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)
